What a great way to start
the NEW year!
If each of would take the time to reflect on God’s love affair
with us, and His expression of that love toward us, we can find
it easier to relate to each other… THINK about it! “For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.” —John 3:16. God loved us so much that he gave
us the “UNSPEAKABLE” gift of His Son to atone us back to
Himself. It’s incredible.
God’s LOVE lifted me… God gave His Son…Jesus gave His life… His
life set us FREE!...FREE from all sin. What’s the best Christmas
present YOU can give to your loved ones? UNDERSTANDING.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get
wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
—Proverbs 4:7
RELATIONSHIP is the key to ANY love affair… whether the affair
is with God; or with each other. On the other hand, if you and a
loved one speak love in
different languages, you may both be missing or misunderstanding
how much the other loves you; and they are probably mistaking
your “I love you” for “I don’t have time for you.”; or
“something else is more important to me than you.”
Add to the language barrier the fact that men and women relate
entirely differently; or that the proverbial generation gap
makes young people and elderly people absorb the exact same
experience in entirely different ways; and you have the exact
problem that Gary Chapman had in mind when he wrote, “The Five
Love Languages.”

The Healthy Family Relationships group will be reading this book
from January thru April, 2009; meeting once a month. We plan to
facilitate discussion groups, incorporating biblical principles
for those reading the book.
We plan to
meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month starting January 15,
2009 thru April 16, 2009 6:00-7:00pm, in the Chapel.
Learning to appreciate different styles
will facilitate individual and family cohesiveness; thus
supporting the vision of spiritual development. Give your
loved ones the gift of a better understanding. Cost of the book:
$8.99…. benefit gifted to your family: $Priceless!
From the Publisher
Are
you and your loved ones speaking the same language? While love is a
many splendored thing, it is sometimes a very confusing thing,
too. And as people come in all varieties, shapes, and sizes, so
do their choices of personal expressions of love. But more often
than not, the giver and the receiver express love in two
different ways. This can lead to misunderstanding, quarrels, and
even divorce. Dr. Gary Chapman identifies five basic languages
of love and then guides couples towards a better understanding
of their unique languages of love. Learn to speak and understand
your mate's love language, and in no time you will be able to
effectively love and truly feel loved in return. Skillful
communication is within your grasp!

Love
There is no fear in
love; but perfect love casts out fear.
-I John 4:18
Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s
Day Poems
I LOVE opens a person up to
great vulnerabilities
in which one can feel great joy.
In all cases - it is when we feel great joy... utter jubilation
that we feel what the power LOVE offers.
It is this power that makes us LOVE, as LOVE makes us feel
invincible.
For these reasons - I give to you my LOVE for you are that one
person that makes me feel vulnerable, joyous, jubilant,
powerful, and invincible.
For you - I give you my world - my LOVE...

“Take love when love is
given, but never think to find it.
A sure escape from sorrow or a complete repose.
- Sara Teasdale
All love is sweet,
Given or returned.
Common as light is love,
And its familiar voice
Wearies not ever.
PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEYN
Love is like a beautiful
flower which I may not touch,
But whose fragrance makes the garden a place of delight just the
same.
HELEN KELLER
Come live with me and be my
love.
And we will all the pleasures prove…
That valleys, groves, hills and fields,
Woods or steepy mountain yields.
